Fremont & Vacaville
Need I say more…
OK - yes -
I’ve not raced at either, but according to the Fremont event web-site, it’s an L-shaped crit with the L being a hairpin turn just like Brisbane. Hmmm… just like my teacher in primary school used to say… "Robert must try harder". I’m going to race the E3’s and will be back later in the day for Margaret at the W4’s race.
Just one question about the scheduling at Fremont, though: "Why?" - M35+ 123 then E3’s right after, shurely shome mishtake - no?
Vacaville - just a few comments from my teammate:
Went thinking it was a flat downtown crit – it’s not. It’s a long course (5 min laps?) The west side is very tight and technical, turn, turn, turn, turn in very quick succession. Then a long straightaway, right turn with a climb that the first few laps ain’t so bad, but man it adds up. I was dying the last 15 minutes. I think we had 15 or so finishers. Just went back to look at last year’s info from my bike computer. The climbs are about 30 seconds @7%. But we were doing it at 23 mph
Oh dear - maybe the climbing I did last weekend will stand me in good stead.
