Weekend festivities

July 12th, 2007 · 4 Comments

It’s Thrutchday and I bet you’re looking at the NCNCA calendar thinking about where you’re going this weekend, right?

No question about it! What with the only other event being some fixed gear love in at Hellyer you’ve got two choices:

Mt Diablo Hill Climb Individual Time Trial and Lafayette Criterium.

Get onto Sportsbaseonline now and pre-reg for the HC ITT - pre-reg closes at 5pm Thursday - like*, NOW.

The HC ITT promises about 2,000feet of climbing at your own pace - just the same as when I ride in the morning, except you’ll be going much faster - up the north side of Mt Diablo. Come on, this isn’t something you can do every day of the year and there is also the opportunity to race for the omnium by competing in the crit the day after!

The criterium promises to be tough and hard fought, the gradual uphill finish will be a great test of your sprinting powers, and for the non-sprinters will provide enough opportunity for you to show off your toughness to the crowds massing in downtown Lafayette. There is the promise of great prizes for all categories, kids races and lots of fun. You might even hear me on the mic doing my very best Phil Ligget impression.

Whatever category you are you have something to race for this weekend. I hope to see you at registration on Saturday and behind the microphone on Sunday. Come out and race!

* as my kids would say

Doh! I was banking on being able to call your name for the win in the M123 race… come on… the Bag Boys are too scared of the finishing hill and are doing some fixed gear luv in.

After your Folsom placing this will suit you down to the ground.
