Quiet Weekend

July 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

ScreenshotNothing much to report this weekend. For once there was no racing for me or Mex, we both rode Saturday to Berkeley. On the motorbike. Got a parking ticket for being 5 minutes late. I wanted to go to the intro sessions at the track then stay for the racing, Saturday afternoon, but I was talked out of it and ended up having a much better day doing nothing much. Its good to have that downtime occaissionaly.

Sunday was the team ride… and its been a while since I went out. Its really amazing to see how many "racers" there are on the team. Like small furry animals they come out in their kits at the weekend to look cool outside Peets, then they disappear into the dust when it comes down to do anything like a race. Oh well. Being the social animal that I am, I decided to do my intervals alone and even went to the summit. Much better for thinking. Its the first time I’ve been to 3,849ft since New Years Day, most of the time I turn back after my ‘vals are done, usually just below the summit. The good news was they weren’t as painful as the last time I did them. Ah, sore legs, I’ve missed the pain after racing this weekend.

Riding clears the head.  Lots of thinking done… lots more to do.
