Cycling 2.0

ScreenshotI’ve decided we should have a "Cycling 2.0". Why me? Because I’m not a totally useless, bigoted, stuck in my ways, head in the sand, blame everyone else rather than accept responsibility man, thats why.

Cycling 2.0 will be a simple system.

It will be based on 2 fundamentals of our culture:

  • Peer to Peer statement of our ability and intentions
  • Open rating system to replace category upgrade points

I propose we have a peer-to-peer pledge:

I pledge to be a crap Cat 2 for the rest of my racing career, or until I decide I need to become a Cat 3 or maybe 4 again so I can taste the sweetness of success.

Date: 7/24/07

Signed: Robert Winder.

We’ll have a simple rating system, after each race all competitors get to vote on 3 aspects:

  • Am I taking drugs?
  • Do I ride safely?
  • Does my chamois smell?

There will be a rank out of 5 stars… Anyone scoring less than 3.5 will be sent back down to the lower category.

Only riders that have 5 stars for 1 complete season will be able to move upto the next category.

Anyone with a rating of 1 for more than 2 months will be sent to MLB & NFL.

We will have a governing body, it’ll be called USUC and its motto will be "We suck less than the rest". Anyone wanting to get involved should email usuc@robertwinder.com
