The great white hope looks to be going down in flames. Bob Stapletons appearance as our sports saviour looks short lived after Patrik Sinkewitz failed a drug test pre-Le Tour.
Sinkewitz has been suspended pending the B test results.

Yes, thats a first. Am I back in England?
Just a shower though, and I doubt it’ll impact the evening ride tonight.
Shoe covers, rain jacket, mud-guards… urghhh.
Bring back the sunshine.

The End is Nigh - Women’s P123 at downtown Laffing Yet?
July 16th, 2007 · 1 Comment
What a way to race - the women put on a huge display of combative racing. Teams from Touchstone, VAC, Proman and Tibco were taken to the cleaners by Mary-Ellen Ash from Los Gatos/Easton/Specialized.
Mary-Ellen won at least two of the primes, followed by Touchstones, Kelly McDonald and huge break by VACs, Hannah Banks raking [...]

Minty end to Laffing Yet? P12 Crit
July 16th, 2007 · No Comments
Close to 50 guys show up to ride the premier event of the weekend and it comes down to a last lap jump by Ryan Parnes.
I’d have put money on BPG & Metromint to be one of the winners, but Randy must’ve left it all on the streets of San Rafael last weekend, [...]

This man was the most attacking rider of 2007 Lafayette Crit.
Kevin rode the M45+, P12 and M35+123 races and was off the front in each race. I’m not sure, but I think I saw him in the Womens P123 race too.

Rebuild starts here…
July 12th, 2007 · No Comments
A little rest is good, today is my first back on the bike, with an easy hour and half ride sub-200watts. Tomorrow is more of the same.
I would like to have caught up with all the TdF coverage my TiVo has captured by the weekend, but I fear the 3 hour live coverage is [...]

New shoes and blues…
July 11th, 2007 · No Comments
Ruth got her new shoes today, more birthday gifts. A pair of Shimano road shoes, silver, blue and very cool.
I’ve got the riding blues and they’re bad. Tomorrow is the first day on the bike since Sunday - 1.5 hour easy - not sure it’ll be enough to wash the blues away.

Update on Mike
July 10th, 2007 · 1 Comment
Mike is in high spirits after his crash on Saturday. The surgery went well and he has two titanium pins, one down his leg and one across his hip.
The hospital has already started the weight-bearing physical therapy and he should be back home by Wednesday or Thursday.
It sounds as though he’s not lost his [...]

The kids, the kids…

Ruth and Joseph are riding with the Expert Tree Service group tonight - mountain biking, instead of being hit by motorists - but I’m stuck here in the jewel of California, Daly City.
Ah, Daly City. They say its all about the location, so I really wonder why our offices moved here from downtown to [...]
