Flying through September, what comes next?

September 5th, 2007 · No Comments

ScreenshotWe’re already at the second weekend of racing in September and from what I calculate there are only 5 races I can do that are left, excluding anything called Mt Something or Everest Something, because they’re not real races - just sufferfests that my poor non-climbers legs can’t handle.

So, I’m already starting to look at whats next, rest would be the obvious winner, time with the long suffering kids that I’ve not seen much of since the week before Snelling. We do have 4 soccer games plus two trips to ballet each Saturday, starting this weekend. So its not like I’ve got time for anything else. Cross, hmm, never liked getting dirty hands, nor do I like running. Track, yeah, would like to, but the clash with soccer/ballet means that I’ll have to wait until November or something like that.

So, where do I take out my natural competitive instinct? Do I bank it to use next season, or find a venue for it to be unleashed on a weekly basis? This is going to be a bumpy landing, but what are you doing for the rest of the non-racing year?

I guess I could save it for the club rides on a Sunday… they’re always a good place for competitive winter riding.
