Two weeks Mex was training in Danville and in the rush to continue her motherly duties she took a corner too quickly, and in the wet, she came down.
She saw the Dr last week and has a suspect broken “Hook of the Hamate” - a golfers injury that requires surgery to fix.
Damn… damn… damn…
She’s a worse patient than me, very frustrated and upset that a silly accident causes so much pain that she can’t ride on the road or race - she feels that her season is passing her by.
Down… down… down…

So sorry to hear that…those kind of crashes are the absolute worst! But sometimes that “forced”time off turns out to be a blessing…. It never seems like it at the time, though.
Best of luck to both of you…

That is not good. It is fun to watch her and her Mintie mates in the local races; that trio has been quite strong this spring.
And I can empathize. I had a slow speed tip-over avoiding a dog 6 weeks back, and broke my right thumb in two places. Had the spectre of surgery for a few days as one of the breaks was on the insertion of the flexor tendon. Last night was the first time in 6 weeks that I was able to shift my right ergo thumb lever, which means I have been a spectator.
